Year 6 have been preparing themselves for a huge change – the move to secondary school. In order to help put nerves at ease, as well as improve the organisation skills necessary for Year 7, we have turned Gallions into a secondary school for two weeks!
Each child in Year 6 has been given their own timetable which they will be expected to follow. They have been learning how to be successful at secondary school by learning skills such as packing a bag, tying a tie and managing their own time.
As well as their regular lessons, we also gave the children options for enrichment lessons. These lessons included pottery, oracy, origami, cycling and gardening!
It has been a great success and has hopefully helped to make the children feel confident and prepared for their transition
into secondary school.
